A standard staple of breakfast across India is a lentil crepe that is popular known as dosa. There are dozens of varieties of dosa that have been whipped up by the chefs, professional or at home, giving rise to a wide selection. It’s no surprise that I find myself craving for a serving of dosa on certain mornings especially now that I’m following the keto diet. (What is a keto diet?).
The search for a keto dosa recipe on the internet came up with over a dozen boss and other websites that seemed workable. Most of them were using the same ingredients and I thought it is something I can try. I picked one recipe and gave it a shot a couple of times. The first time, I had trouble flipping the dogs over to the other side on the non stick pan as it was too soft or wear breaking into pieces. I was a bit more lucky the second time but I ended up slightly burning one side, as I have more time for it to cook properly. So my search and experimentation for a good recipe continued
Keto Dosa is a great option that can be prepared in a relatively very short time, if you have all the ingredients. Lets start with the ingredients first.
- Almond flour
- Cheese (Parmesan or Parmesan/Cheddar mix)
- Coconut milk
- Salt to taste
Mix all the ingredient into a batter like consistency. Your Keto Dosa batter is ready.
Heat up a non-stick pan, drizzle some coconut oil and use a round ladle to spread the batter in a round shape. Cook on low/medium heat. Turn it over after about a minute or two and cook the other side as well. Fold it in half and the yummy Keto Dosa is ready to serve.
What can accompany a Keto Dosa?
- Keto coconut chutney
- Keto ginger pickle
- Keto peanut butter spread.
Enjoy!
